HWhat the timer can do

The timer in this product can do the following:

ITo use the timer, be sure to adjust the clock. (page 10)

Timer playback:

Music (CDs, MDs, radio, sound from an external unit) can be played automatically at a preset time. The playback ending time can also be set.

Timer recording:

You can record the sound from a radio or an external unit on an MD while you are out or when you are asleep.

Sleep operation:

When the preset amount of time has elapsed, the music will stop automatically, and the power will be turned off. This is convenient for going to sleep.

HTo set up the timer for playback

Before starting timer playback, the following preparations are required.

ILoad a CD or an MD.

ISelect the CD to be played.

IPreset the radio station.

1While in the stop mode, press the TIMER/DELETE button.

2Within 10 seconds, press theor on the MULTI CONTROL button to select "TIMER SET". Then, press the ENTER button.

3Within 10 seconds, press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select "PLAY".

IEach time the button is pressed, the display will alternate between "PLAY" and "REC".

4Within 10 seconds, press the on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the position where the start time hour ("ON")

flashes. Then, press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to adjust the hour.

5Press the on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the position where the start time minutes flash. Then, press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to adjust the minutes.

IWhen the button is held down, the time will change in increments of 5 minutes.

6Adjust the hour and minute for the stop time ( "OFF") using the same procedure as described in steps 4 - 5 above.

7Press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the position where the sound source flashes. Then, press the

or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the sound source you want to listen to.

IEach time the button is pressed, the source will change as follows:

MD CD TUNER AUX1 AUX2 AUX OPT AUX COAX PHONO

IWhen no radio stations have been stored in memory, "TUNER" will not appear.

When "TUNER" has been selected

I"P-01" will appear to the right of "TUNER". After pressing theon the MULTI CONTROL button (the flashing area moves), press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select the location number of the radio station you want to listen to.
