CHANGING THE MESSAGES DISPLAYED WHEN THE POWER IS TURNED ON/OFF

MESSAGE

It is possible to change the message displayed on the LCD when the power is off, to suit your preference. It is also possible to select a previously stored message for display on a specified day when the power is turned on.

ICOMMON MESSAGE

This is the message displayed on the LCD when the unit is powered off. The default message is "LET'S ENJOY MUSIC", but this can be changed to any other message you choose, up to 20 characters in length.

ISPECIAL MESSAGE

This is the message displayed when the power is turned on. You can even set the unit to display a special message only on a specified day. There are two ways to set a message: One is to select from one of the messages that came stored in the player's memory; the other is to enter a message of your own, up to 32 characters long, and store it in memory.

HTo change the common message

1While in the stop mode, press the MESSAGE button.

IThis can be done even when the power is off.

ITo enter a message in extra large characters:

Press the DISPLAY button to select the extra large character display.

2Press the or on the MULTI CONTROL button to select

"COMMON MESSAGE".

3Press the ENTER button.

4Enter the message you want to display.

IEnter any message up to 20 characters long.

IFor details about entering characters and how to make corrections, see pages 13 - 16.

5Press the MESSAGE button.

IThe common message will be changed. The next time the power is turned off, the new message will appear.

To return to the default common message:

Press the TIMER/DELETE button in step 4 above to erase all message characters.

Press the MESSAGE button.

IThe common message will return to "LET'S ENJOY MUSIC".
