Mobile Internet (WAP)

You may also have to pay a subscription for this service.

 

Your MX-6880 is able to access the Internet. It is however,

provided that your network operator supports this service.

WAP offers users of mobile phones the possibility to access Internet information and communication in the same way,

6as you know it from a computer. By using the WAP browser

6.1in the phone you can find a lot of useful information as for example news, sports, weather and traffic information.

Due to the small display size, WAP Internet pages are designed in a special format called WML. Ordinary Internet pages in HTML format cannot be displayed. Your Internet provider or your network operator can inform you of which services/pages are available in WAP format.

Getting Started

Your network operator has probably already configured the settings (profiles) and you can start using the WAP functionality directly as described in “Internet Access”. If this is not the case, please contact your network operator. They will provide you with the necessary information so you can set up the profiles yourself as described in “setting the Profiles” on page 6.4

Important keys When Using WAP

– open WAP menu

– select link or input field. The elements that can be chosen is showed with dark background when you are moving up and down

or – go back one step in the menu. If is long- pressed the Internet browser will shut down and the data connection will be shut down

– move up and down on a page

Press to open the WAP menu

Use to move up and down and to select a menu point or press the corresponding number

Home

When HOME is selected, the homepage set as default in the active profile will open. A profile consists of some network settings that you only need to enter into your phone once. When these settings are entered you only have to switch between the different profiles every time you want to change the connection. The browser can handle up to five different profiles, but only one of them will be active at a time
