The Display Headline

Mode: This field indicates

the current mode. See the paragraph about mode indicators.

Info: This field indicates the number of characters left of the current message (maximum 160 characters). In read mode this field will indicate the total number of characters of the received message.

State: This field indicates the symbols of either shift or caps lock. See the paragraph about mode indicators.

Typing Words with T9 Text Input

Remember!

1. Use just one key press per desired letter.

2. The displayed word may change as you type it. Type to the end of the word before editing.

3. If the displayed word is not the one you intended, press the down arrow key to display other matching words.

Notice that the displayed words change as you type the phrase. Always type to the end of the word before changing what appears to be a mistake.

When spelling the common English name "Jim", long push the 5key to both turn on caps and get a capital "J". Notice that the shift indicator appears in the top left of the display headline. Long-push the 4key to turn off caps, and get an
