WHAT’S NEW about your load-sensing washer

Load-Sensing determines the appropriate amount of water for each load based on your cycle and options selected for maximum energy and water savings.

Although your new load-sensing washer may look the same as other washers, there are a few important steps that are required to maximize your water and energy savings:

BEFORE STARTING THE WASHER:

Presort all of your laundry.

Do not interrupt the cycle or open the lid after starting

Add all of your garments and laundry products to the washer

the washer. Opening the lid will reduce or eliminate water

and washer dispensers. See “Starting Your Washer”.

savings. If the lid is opened during fill, the washer will add

more water to accommodate any additional load. If the

lid is opened after the washer has completed filling, the

washer will then fill to the highest level.

How It Works

The following describes what to expect when using a washer with load-sensing technology.

After starting your washer, there will be a short pause before the washer begins to fill. The washer makes different sounds and pauses briefly throughout each cycle. This is normal.

Next, three nozzles spray to evenly saturate the load. Then a sensing step occurs. The filling stops, and the agitator moves the load for a very brief time.

The washer estimates how much more water to add; then, filling resumes and continues to sense until the right amount of water is reached. Now washing begins.

Correct Water Level for Load

Water may not cover the top of the clothes and water level will vary with size of load. This is normal for Auto Load-Sensing washers. For these models, the water fill is optimized by the system for best wash performance.

IMPORTANT: To save water and energy, DO NOT OPEN THE LID after starting the washer.
