Set mode programming

Set mode is used to change the condition of the transceiver’s functions and the microphone’s own functions:

Transceiver’s functions—

Scan mode (normal or priority), scan resume timer, dual- watch/tri-watch selection, beep tone function, internal speaker, LCD contrast, scrambler code, scrambler type and ATIS check.

Microphone’s own functions—

Beep tone function, LCD contrast and internal speaker.

In this section, instructions are for the microphone’s own func- tions only. Refer to pgs. 14–16 for the setting of the other functions. (Some functions may not be selectable from the mi- crophone.)

ïEntering set mode

qTurn power OFF.

wWhile pushing and holding [16•C], turn power ON.

After beep emission, a set mode item (in the channel name indi- cator and condition in the channel number readout) is displayed.

ePush [16•C] to select the desired item, if necessary. r Push [Y]/[Z] to select the desired condition of the item. t Turn power OFF, then ON to exit set mode.

Beep tone “BEEP”

Push [Y] to turn ON, [Z] to turn OFF the beep output.

LCD contrast “LCD CONTRAST”

Push [Y]/[Z] to adjust to a suitable LCD contrast.

Push [Y]/[Z] to turn the HM-134 internal-speaker ON/OFF.
