6.) Record the expiration date on the HRU expiration label (K) with an indelible marker.

7.) Slide the metal mounting rod adapter (L) onto top of HRU unit. Place the HRU release rod (C) into the mounting rod adapter, aligning the holes.

8.) With pliers, insert slotted spring pin (I) into the aligned holes, securing the three pieces together .(see Figure A).

9.) Place the HRU assembly with the expiration calendar facing the bottom mounting plate and insert rod through the bottom mounting plate hole (Figure A). Insert small cotter pin (G) through the small hole in the rod, securing the HRU to the bottom mounting plate.

10.) Place the front cover onto the bottom mounting plate with the HRU release rod sticking out of the front cover hole. Align the holes on the sides of the front cover with the holes in the metal adapter brackets (J). (see Figure A).

11.) Attach the front cover and bottom mounting plate using the 4 screws

(F) as shown in Figure A.

12.) Carefully place the EPIRB back into the bracket with the lanyard facing toward the back of the bracket by pushing the bracket ejector spring back and placing the beacon into the bracket. Close the swing arm door securely to hold the beacon in place. Lock the swing arm door in place with the door pin. Tighten all eight (8) screws.

13.) Place HRU expiration label (K) on the outside of the bracket in a visible location.
