UTILITY TRAY

The utility tray is located on the rear of your Jazzy 1400. See figure 5. A section of the utility tray is exposed through the body shroud. The utility tray consists of the ammeter, the battery charger lead, charger fuses, the main circuit breaker, light connectors (optional equipment), and the controller connectors. See figures 3 through 5.

and Charging” in this manual.

￿Battery charger lead: This is the AC power lead for the battery charger.

￿Main circuit breaker: This is a safety feature built into your Jazzy 1400. When the batteries and the motors are heavily strained (e.g., from excessive loads), the main circuit breaker will trip to prevent damage to the motors and to the electronics. If the circuit trips, allow

your Jazzy to “rest” for approximately one minute. Then, push in the circuit breaker button, turn on the joystick controller, and continue normal operation. If the main circuit breaker continues to trip repeatedly, contact your authorised Pride provider.

￿ Controller harness connectors: This is where the joystick connects to the motors, batteries, and charger.

Your Jazzy is equipped with a Remote Plus or Europa Remote controller. See figures 3 and 4.

￿Optional lighting harness connector: This is where the optional lighting harness connects to the controller. If a full lighting package is used, an additional 4-pin plug is located in the rear utility tray.

￿Optional power seat connector: This is for the power seat switch.

FREEWHEEL LEVERS

For your convenience, your Jazzy 1400 is equipped with one freewheel lever. See figures 6 and 7. This lever allows you to disengage the drive motors and maneuver the chair manually.

WARNING: DO NOT use your Jazzy 1400 while the drive motors are disengaged unless you are in the presence of an attendant. DO NOT disengage the drive motors when your Jazzy 1400 is on an incline. The chair could roll down on its own, causing injury!
