Answering system

Message counter displays

When the answering system is idle, the message counter displays the total number of answering system messages. See the list below for explanations of other displays in this counter.

Message counter displays

0

No messages.

 

 

0 (flashing)

The clock needs to be set (page 34).

 

 

1-95

Total number of messages and memos,

 

or message number currently playing.

 

 

1-95(flashing)

Total number of messages and memos.

 

The number flashes when there are new

 

(unreviewed) messages.

 

If the telephone loses power, after power

 

is restored, the number in the message

 

counter will flash (even if you have only

 

old messages) to indicate the clock

 

needs to be set.

 

 

10-99

Current remote access code while setting

 

(page 36).

 

 

1-99(counting)

Elapsed time while recording a memo

 

(page 38) or announcement up to 90

 

seconds (page 35).

 

 

99 (flashing)

Memo recording time has exceeded

 

the maximum counter capacity of 99

 

seconds.

 

 

F (flashing)

Memory is full. Messages must be deleted

 

before new messages can be received.
