Set the “Digital Audio Output” of the setup menu to “DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM”.
zWhen this recorder is connected an amplifier (receiver) equipped with DTS decoder
Set the “Digital Audio Output” of the setup menu to “Stream/PCM”.
Note
•When connecting an amplifier (receiver) not equipped with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder using an optical cord, do not select “DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM” or “Sream/PCM” in the “Digital Audio Output” of the setup menu.
Merely attemping to play a DVD may cause a screeching noise which could be harmful to your ears and damage the speakers. In such a case, be sure to select “PCM” in the “Digital Audio Output”.
