This overdial select/entry mode remains activemuntil the call is dropped, cleared, or is pressed. The overdial select/en- try mode can be re-entered if the call is still

active by pressing *.

PORTABLE DATA

When operating in the EDACS configuration, M-RK radios permit either voice or data calls to be transmitted or received. The radio can handle only one type of call at a time; however, selection of either data or voice is elected transparently by the operator through normal usage of the radio. Data communications is not sup- ported in the conventional mode. DATA, RS2-Type DATA, and ProFile are EDACS enhanced, separately pur- chased features that when turned on can be used to configure M-RK radios.

"Data" now applies to two classes of data: External Device Data Applications (Mobile Data Terminals) and Radio Destined Data Applications (ProFile). For Exter- nal Device Data Applications, both destination and
