CUTTING CAPABILITY

The TOMAHAWK™ 625 is rated at 40 amps, at 35% duty cycle on a 10 minute basis. If the duty cycle is exceeded, a thermal protector will shut off the output of the machine until it cools to the normal operating temperature.

Figure B.1 shows the cut capacity of the TOMA- HAWK™ 625 when cutting mild steel. (The graph plots cut thickness vs. torch travel speed with a torch standoff of 0.15".)

CONSUMABLE LIFE

The expected life for the TOMAHAWK™ 625's elec- trode under normal operating conditions is approxi- mately 1000 starts/cuts. An erosion of .060" is typical for end of electrode life, however, the electrode life may last longer. A green and erratic arc will indicate definite electrode failure and the electrode should be replaced immediately.

It is recommended that consumables be replaced in complete sets. (Example: Electrode and Nozzle). This will maximize the performance of the TOMAHAWK™ 625 system.
