Menu Option | Description | |
Supervisor Password | This displays whether a supervisor password has been entered for the system. | |
“Not Installed” means that a Supervisor password has not been used. | ||

User Password | This displays whether a user password has been entered for the system. “Not | |
Installed” means that a User password has not been used. | ||

Change Supervisor | Select this option and hit the <ENTER> key to access the | |
type in the Supervisor's password in the dialogue box to set or change the | ||

Supervisor password, which allows access to the System’s BIOS. | ||

| Select this option and hit the <ENTER> key to access a | |
| following options; | |
| • Full Access (default) – This grants full user read and write acces to the | |
| BIOS Setup Utility. | |
Change User | • VIEW ONLY – This allows access to the BIOS Setup Utility, but does not | |
allow the fields to be changed. | ||
Password | ||
• LIMITED – This allows only limited fields to be changed such as DATE and | ||
| ||
| TIME. | |
| • No Access – This prevents User access to the BIOS Setup Utility. | |
| NOTE: This option is only available when the Supervisor Password has been set | |
| above. | |
Clear User Password | This option allows you to clear a user password after it has been entered. | |

Password Check | This item allows you to check a password after it has been entered. The options | |
include Setup and ALWAYS. | ||

Boot Sector Virus | When ENABLED, the AMI BIOS displays a warning when any program or virus | |
issues a Disk Format command or attempts to write to the boot sector of the hard | ||
Protection | ||
disk drive. Options include ENABLED and Disabled. | ||
