Incorrect printer output

The following table lists common printer output problems and suggested solutions for resolving them.

Solution

Re-select the font in the software application.

Download the font to the printer or use another font. (In Windows, the driver does this automatically.)

Select the correct printer driver.

Unable to print all characters in a symbol set

Drifting text between printouts

The correct font is not selected.

The correct symbol set is not selected.

The selected character or symbol is not supported by the software application.

Your software application is not resetting the printer to the top of the page.

Select the correct font. Select the correct symbol set.

Use a font that supports the selected character or symbol.

Erratic, missing characters or

The interface cable is of poor
