1Turn on the unit.

Disregard steps 1 through 6, if your unit will not turn on and the print carriage is in the home position. You will not be able to remove the print cartridges. Proceed to step 7.

2Open the print cartridge access door.

3Remove the print cartridges from their holders, and lower the latches. See replace the print cartridges on page 39 for information on removing the print cartridges. Place cartridges in an airtight bag.

Caution! Remove both print cartridges and lower both latches. Failure to do so may damage your unit.

4Turn off the unit.

5Close the print cartridge access door.

6Pack the unit for shipment using adequate packing materials.

Shipping damage caused by improper packaging and/or improper transportation is not covered under the warranty.

7Place the return shipping label on the outside of the box.

8Include the following items in the box:

A brief description of symptoms for service personnel (samples of print quality problems are helpful).

A copy of the sales slip or other proof of purchase to establish the warranty coverage period.

Your name, address, and a phone number where you can be reached during the day.
