OPERATION

MODEL VSGF28NTC

WARNING: This fireplace has a three-prong, grounded electri- cal plug. This plug helps protect you against electrical shock. Only connect plug to a properly grounded, three-prong recep- tacle. Do not cut or remove the grounding prong from this plug.

Locate the blower switch by opening lower louver on fireplace. Blower switch is lo- cated at lower left inside louver door.

This thermostat-controlled blower has a variable speed control with an ON/OFF switch. The blower will start when the thermostat senses a sufficient increase in firebox temperature.

Note: It is safe to operate fireplace with blowerturnedoff.However,theblowerhelps distribute heated air from the fireplace.

MODEL VSGF28NVA

Blower Kit Model GA3700 Series

This optional non-thermostat blower kit features a variable control which allows you to select the speed you desire. After about 15 minutes, turn the blower on to deliver heated air at the top louvers. Fol- low the installation instructions on pages 8 and 9 of this manual.

IMPORTANT: Light your gas appliance with the blower off.

Note: Periodically check the louvers of the firebox and remove any dust, dirt, or other obstructions.

Blower Kit Model GA3700T Series

Locate the blower switch by opening the lower louver on fireplace. Blower switch is located at lower left inside louver door.

The GA3700TA thermostat-controlled blower has a variable speed control with an ON/OFF switch. The blower will start when the thermostat senses a sufficient increase in firebox temperature.

IMPORTANT: Light your gas appliance with the blower off.

Note for GA3700TA: If you are using GA3700TA blower, your gas fireplace and blower will not turn on and off at the same time. The fireplace may run for several minutes before the blower turns on. After the heater modulates to the pilot position, the blower will continue to run. The blower will shut off after the firebox temperature decreases.

BURNERS

Check pilot flame pattern and burner flame patterns often.

PILOT FLAME PATTERN

Figure 31 shows a correct pilot flame pat- tern. Figure 32 shows an incorrect pilot flame pattern. The incorrect pilot flame is not touching the thermocouple. This will cause the thermocouple to cool. When the thermocouple cools, the fireplace will shut down.

If pilot flame pattern is incorrect, as shown in Figure 32
