IMPORTANT: Be sure to press the ON/ OFF buttons on hand-held remote control unit for up to 3 seconds to assure proper operation.

REMOTE OPERATION

Note: All remote control accessories must be purchased separately (see Accessories, page 31). Follow instructions included with the remote control.

NOTICE: You must light the pilot before using the hand-held re- mote control unit. See Lighting Instructions, page 21.

After lighting, let pilot flame burn for about one minute. Turn control knob to ON position. Adjust flame adjustment knob anywhere be- tween HI and LO. Slide the selector switch to the REMOTE position (see Figure 36).

Note: Burner may light if hand-held remote was on when selector switch was last turned off. You can now turn burner on and off with hand-held remote control unit.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave selector switch in the REMOTE or ON position when pilot is not lit. This will drain battery.

To Lock press both buttons on hand-held remote control until light stops flashing. Hand- held remote control is now locked. If fire is on it will be turned off automatically. In locked state, light will not light up when any button is pressed.

To Unlock press both buttons together on hand-held remote control until light stops flashing. Hand-held remote is now unlocked.

the appliance gas controls to a 120 VAC power source. Damage or injury may occur.

Light fireplace as instructed in Lighting Instructions on page 21 . If using an HRC remote with a wall switch, set remote selec- tor switch to the ON position (see Figure 36).

Hold control button on hand-held remote until burner turns on. Hold control button again until burner turns off (see Figure 37).

Wall switch may now be used to turn burner flame ON and OFF.

To turn fireplace off, turn wall switch and/or remote selector switch to the OFF position and turn gas control knob back to PILOT. Pilot will remain lit.

IMPORTANT: To turn pilot off, turn gas control knob on heater to the OFF position.
