7 Appliance Preparation

A. Top Vent

Wear protective gloves and safety glasses during installation.

ELBOW HEAT SHIELD

An elbow heat shield is attached to the Soho24B. Do not remove this heat shield.

If venting with a 90 degree elbow directly off of the top of the unit, the heat shield should be placed as shown. Ro- tate the heat shield up to the vertical position and fold the tab down to contact the elbow. Make sure the rope ring, found in the manual bag, is in place around the elbow before attaching more pipe.

If venting vertically or using vertical pipe before the elbow, rotate the elbow heat shield to a vertical position and fold the heat shield in half as shown. Make sure the rope ring, found in the manual bag, is in place around the first sec-

tion of vent pipe.
