J1C, J1X, & J2X MASTER JET SERIES GAS FRYERS CHAPTER 6: OPERATOR TROUBLESHOOTING

Pilot outage.

A.Automatic gas valve knob turned to off position.

B.Low pilot flame.

C.Clogged pilot orifice.

D.Pilot burner clogged around pilot generator.

E.Pilot flame blowing away from pilot generator (excessive draft in kitchen).

F.Pilot generator not inserted fully into pilot burner.

G.Pilot generator low output.

H.High resistance in high-limit thermostat contacts.

I.Defective pilot magnet in gas valve.

J.Corroded connection where pilot generator connects to gas valve.

A.Turn gas valve to PILOT position, relight pilot.

B.Adjust pilot flame to 1 ½ inches (38mm).

C.Remove and clean the pilot orifice. Reinstall.

D.Remove pilot burner. Clean burner.

E.Eliminate draft in the kitchen.

F.Reinsert pilot generator into pilot burner until flame surrounds tip.

G.Replace pilot generator.

H.Replace high-limit thermostat.

I.Replace gas valve.

J.Clean pilot generator connection at gas valve.
