SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
•Fire hazard! Parts of the appliance become hot during operation. Therefore do not move the appliance during operation.

BEFORE OPERATION
•Remove all packing materials.
•Clean and dry the appliance as described in Cleaning and Care.
OPERATION
•Connect the power plug (3) with a corresponding power outlet. The red control lamp (1) lights up.
•During first operation a light smell or smoke can appear. But it is harmless and lasts only for a short time.
Take care of adequate ventilation.
•The sandwiches can be prepared now.
•Spread butter onto the outer sides of the sandwiches.
•Put tuna, fowls, bacon, spinach, cheese, mushrooms, mustard, tomato sauce, vegetables like tomato or onion, eggs, dips etc. onto the toast.
•Cover the filling with another toast.
The filling should be covered completely by the toasts.
•When the green control lamp (2) lights up, the appliance is heated.
•Loose the interlock (4) and open the appliance.
•Put the sandwich onto the lower sandwich plate (5).
Close the sandwich toaster and snap in the interlock so the edges of the sandwich will be closed well.
Toast it depending on filling and taste for about 2 - 3 minutes.
•During toasting the green control lamp sometimes lights up and turns off.
This indicates that the appliance heats up temporarily to keep the temperature constant.
•Take care that the sandwich toasts do not contain too much humidity. Otherwise the crust of the sandwich will not be crunchy.
Drip down humid foods like vegetables or fish over the can. Do not use too many sauces or dips.
Instead of butter you can also use margarine, herbal butter or oil. Do not overfill the appliance.
After operation disconnect the power plug to switch off the appliance.
