Frequently asked questions

Q What is the best way to clean stainless steel?

ASee cleaning instructions on page 9.

Q How do I clean the pan supports and burners?

ASupports can be washed in the dishwasher or alternatively with a cream cleaner (such as Jif ) and a nylon scourer. Burners are best washed in warm water (see cleaning instructions on page 9).

Q All the burners spark at once when I go to light one, is this ok?

AYes, they are designed to do this.

Q Why doesn’t my cooktop light?

AFirstly, check it is plugged in and the gas is turned on. Alternatively, the gas ignitors may be dirty. These are easily cleaned with a toothbrush and methylated spirits. (Also check Trouble shooting on page 13).

Q Will the graphics on my cooktop come off?

ANo, these are etched by laser (see stainless steel cleaning instructions, page 9).

Q My burner flames are yellow / slow to start, is something wrong?

AYes, there are a number of factors which could be causing this

1.If you use bottled gas this may indicate you are getting near the end of the bottle.

2.Your cooktop may not be suited to the gas you are using, check with your service person/installer.

3.The gas pressure may not be at the correct level, check with your service person/installer.

4.See Trouble shooting on page 13.

Q One of my burners has an uneven flame, what can I do?

ACheck the burner parts are clean and assembled correctly (see pages 6 and 9).

Q What size pots should I use?

AGenerally larger pots are more energy efficient, see page 5 and 7 for further details.

Q Do I need special pans for a gas cooktop?

ARegular pans are fine. We recommend thick based pans for efficient, even heat.

CG902Q, CG902M, CG602M specifications

Fisher & Paykel's CG602M, CG902M, and CG902Q cooktops are prime examples of precision engineering combined with sophisticated design. These models not only enhance your cooking experience but also align with modern kitchen aesthetics, making them a worthy investment for any culinary enthusiast.

The CG602M is a 60 cm gas cooktop that showcases Fisher & Paykel’s commitment to quality. It features four burners, including a high-powered wok burner that is perfect for achieving the intense heat needed for Asian-style cooking. The burners come with continuous grates, allowing for smooth and seamless pot movement across the cooktop. This model is designed with a sleek stainless steel finish, offering both durability and elegance.

Moving on to the CG902M, this 90 cm gas cooktop brings additional versatility with five burners, catering to both casual cooks and gourmet chefs. A standout design element is the dual-fuel capability, where a combination of gas burners and an electric element offers precise temperature control. The CG902M is equipped with powerful burners, including a high-efficiency burner for rapid boiling and a simmer burner for delicate sauces. Fisher & Paykel's intuitive ignition system ensures effortless start-up, while the easy-to-clean surfaces simplify maintenance.

The CG902Q takes innovation a step further by introducing a unique induction option. This cooktop provides the speed and efficiency of induction cooking, which heats pots directly rather than the burner, resulting in faster cooking times and less energy wastage. The CG902Q also features a bridge function, allowing you to combine two induction zones into a larger cooking surface, perfect for griddles or long trays. Additionally, the touch control interface provides precise temperature settings, enhancing the overall cooking experience.

Across all these models, Fisher & Paykel emphasizes safety and user-friendly designs. Each cooktop includes flame failure protection, ensuring that the gas supply is cut off if the flame goes out. With stylish aesthetics and advanced features, the CG602M, CG902M, and CG902Q are perfect choices for anyone looking to elevate their culinary skills while making a statement in their kitchen.
