About the automatic icemaker.

A newly installed refrigerator may take 12 to 24 hours to begin making ice.

Automatic Icemaker (on some models)

The icemakerwill producesevencubesper cycle— approximately 100–130 cubesin a 24-hour period, depending on freezer compartmenttemperature, room temperature,numberof dooropeningsand otheruse conditions.

See below for how to accessice and reachthe power switch.

If the refrigerator is operatedbeforethe water connection is made to the icemaker,set the power switch in the O (off) position.

Whenthe refrigerator has beenconnectedto

the watersupply,set the powerswitchto the l (on) position. The icemaker powerlight will turngreen whenthe freezerlight switch is pressedin or when the freezer door is closed.

The icemakerwill fill withwaterwhenit cools to 15°F (–10°C). A newly installed refrigeratormay take 12 to 24 hours to beginmaking ice cubes.

Youwill heara buzzingsoundeachtime the icemakerfills with water.

Throw awaythe first few batchesof ice to allow the waterline to clear.

Be sure nothing interferes with the sweep of the feelerarm.

Whenthe bin fills to the levelof the feelerarm, the icemakerwill stop producing ice. It is normal for severalcubesto be joinedtogether.

If ice is not usedfrequently, old ice cubeswill become cloudy,tastestale and shrink.

NOTE: In homeswithlower-than-averagewater pressure,you may hearthe icemakercyclemultiple times whenmakingone batch of ice.

NOTE: Set the power switch to the O (off) position if the water supply is shutoff.

the shelfabovethe ice bin straightout. Always be sure to replace the shelf.

To Use the Dispenser (on some models)

 

DispenserCradle

Spill Shelf

Press the glassgently againstthe top of the dispensercradle.

The spill shelf is not self-draining.To reducewater spotting,the shelf should be cleanedregularly.

If no water is dispensedwhenthe refrigeratoris first installed, there may be air in the waterline system. Press the dispenserarm for at leasttwo minutes to remove trappedair fromthe waterline and to fill the water system.To flushout impurities in the water line, throw awaythe firstsix glassfuls of water.

Locking the Dispenser

Press the LOCK pad for 3 secondsto lock the dispenserand control panel.To unlock, pressand holdthe pad againfor 3 seconds.

The waterdispenseris locatedon the left wall inside the refrigerator compartment.

To dispensewater:

Hold the glass against the recess.

Pushthe waterdispenserbutton.

Hold the glass underneaththe dispenserfor 2–3 secondsafterreleasingthe dispenser button. Water may continueto dispense after the button is released.

If no water is dispensedwhenthe refrigeratoris firstinstalled,theremay be air in the water line system.Press the dispenserbutton for at least

2 minutesto remove trapped air from the water line and to fill the water system.Duringthisprocess, the dispensernoisemay be loudas the air is purged from the water linesystem.To flushout impurities in the water line, throw awaythe first
