1GETTING STARTED

Installing the battery

Your Kyocera K342 phone comes with a removable lithium ion (LiIon) battery. Fully

charge the battery before using the phone.

You must use a Kyocera-authenticated battery in your phone. If you attempt to use a battery that has not been authenticated you will receive a security warning. Contact your service provider to obtain a Kyocera-authenticated battery.

To install the battery:

1. Hold the phone face down.

2.Slide the battery door downward to remove it.

3.Place the battery in the phone casing with the

metal contacts facing towards the bottom of the phone.

4.Replace the battery door by sliding the notches into

the openings at the bottom and outside edges of the battery casing.

5.Slide the door up to secure the cover into place.

Charging the battery

You must have at least a partial charge in the battery to make or receive calls.

To charge the battery:

1. Connect the AC adapter to the jack on the bottom of the phone.

2.Plug the adapter into a wall outlet.

The battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen tells you whether the phone is:

Charging (the icon is animated)

Partially charged

Fully charged

Note: The battery will not charge if you use the phone while it is connected to an AC adapter.

Recharging the battery

You can safely recharge the battery at any time, even if it has a partial charge.

Note: To remove the battery, make sure the phone is powered off.
