Helpful hints

1

Keep flames under the base of

pans. If the flames lick round the

sides of the pans you are wasting

gas.

2

Only heat the amount of liquid you

need. Do not overfill pans.

3

Cover pans with a lid whenever

possible. The food will heat up

more quickly and there will be less

steam in the kitchen.

4

Try cooking more than one

vegetable in the same pan, for

example potatoes and carrots.

5

Cut vegetables into smaller pieces.

This way they will cook more

quickly.

6

A pressure cooker will save time

and energy.

The Parkinson Cowan 55M is a remarkable freestanding gas cooker that has become a staple in many modern kitchens, particularly in the UK. Renowned for its blend of practicality and contemporary design, the 55M caters to both amateur cooks and seasoned chefs alike.

One of the standout features of the Parkinson Cowan 55M is its dual fuel design. This dual functionality allows users to enjoy the precision of gas cooking for the hob, while also benefitting from electric ovens, providing even heat distribution essential for baking. The appliance boasts a 55cm width, making it an ideal choice for kitchens where space is at a premium without compromising on cooking performance.

The Parkinson Cowan 55M is equipped with four gas burners, each varying in size – from a small simmer burner to a powerful wok burner, catering to a variety of cooking styles and techniques. The burners also feature enamelled supports, ensuring that pots and pans are securely held in place during the cooking process.

One of the key technologies incorporated into the design of the 55M is the easy-clean enamel lining in the oven. This innovative feature helps to combat the buildup of grease and food splatters, making post-cooking maintenance simpler and less time-consuming. Additionally, the ovens present in the cooker are fitted with strong, durable door glass that offers a clear view of the cooking process without needing to open the oven door, enhancing cooking safety and efficiency.

The primary oven, for example, offers various functions including a conventional heating option, making it suitable for a range of dishes. Meanwhile, the secondary oven is perfect for cooking smaller meals or keeping dishes warm.

The design of the Parkinson Cowan 55M complements a range of kitchen aesthetics, featuring sleek lines and a modern finish. The user-friendly controls are designed for ease of operation, with large knobs that allow precise temperature and function adjustments.

Lastly, safety features such as flame failure devices are integrated to provide peace of mind, automatically cutting off gas supply if the flame goes out. This aspect reinforces the commitment to safe cooking practices, ensuring that users can focus on creating delicious meals without worrying about safety hazards.

In conclusion, the Parkinson Cowan 55M is a versatile and efficient cooking appliance that effectively caters to the requirements of contemporary home cooking, incorporating essential features and technologies that enhance usability, performance, and safety.
