C. INSTRUCCIONES PARA ARRANCAR EL MOTOR (Para la ubicaci6n de los controles, vea "Espeeificaciones.")

ANTES DE ARRANCAR EL MOTOR

,,Cargue combustible al motor. Al6jese 10 pies (3 m) det [ugar donde carg6 el combustible.

La cabeza de la cortadora, ADVERTENCIAcontenzar6 a girar cuando el motor

arranque.

•Apoye el motor y el escudo en el sueto, sosteniendo Ia cabeza de la cortadora por encima del suelo,

NOTA: Saque y dcseche el protector de plfistico para transporte que vicne cn la pcrilla dcI ccbador (si asf viene equipado).

ARRANCADO UN MOTOR FRIO O UN MOTOR CALIENTE

DESPUES QUE SE AGOTO EL COMBUSTIBLE EN EL TANQUE:

-Compruebe que el interruptor para arranque estfi en la posici6n "ON" (Conectado).

•Mueva la palanca del estrangulador a la posici6n "Full Choke" (Totalmente cen'ado).

•Lentamente, apfiete la perilla del cebador 6 veces.

•Apriete y sujcte apretado el gatillo del acelerador. Mantenga el

gatillo conqdetamente apretado hasta que el motor arranque y funchme un(]2mnetnente de._Tmt_s"del siguiente paso,

•Jale con energf'a la cucrda para atTancar 5 veces.

El motor puede sonar como si tratara de arrancar antes de la 5"jatada. Si es asL prosiga de inmediato a[ pr6ximo paso.

•Mueva la palanca del estrangulador a la posicidn de "Half Choke" (Medio cen-ado).

°Jale con encrgfa la cuerda para arrancar hasta que el motor arnmque, pero no mils de 6 veces,

NOTA: Si el motor no ha arrancado despu6s de haber jalado la

cuerda para arrancar por 6 veces (con el estrangulador medio

cerrado), compruebe que et interruptor y la palanca del cstrangulador cst6n en las posiciones con'cctas. Luego, mueva la

palanca del estrangulador a la posicidn de "Full Choke" (Completamente cerrado) y presione la peritla del cebador 6 veces; apriete y mantenga apretado el gatillo del acelerador y jale la

cuerda para arrancar 2 veces mils. Mueva la palanca del cstrangulador a la posicidn de "Half Choke" (Medio cerrado) y jale la cuerda para atTancar hasta quc el motor arranque, pero no m,4sde 6 veces m,'is,

NO'I'A;. Si el motor todavfa no ha arrancado, es que probablemente eslfi ahogado. Proccda a seguir lax instrucciones de "Arrancando un motor ahogado!'.

Dcje que el motor funcion¢ pot 15 segundos, luego mueva la palanca del estrangulador a la posici6n "Off Choke" (Estrangulador abieao). Deje que la unidad funcione por 30 _gundos m_ts con eI estrangulador abieno, antes de soltar el gatillo del acelerador.

NOTA: Si el motor se apaga con la palanca del estrangulador en la posici6n de abierto, mueva [a pa[anca a [a posici6n de "Half Choke" (Medio ccvrado) y ja[e la cuerda para arrancar hasta que el motor arranque.

•Mueva la patanca del estrangulador a la posici6n "Half Choke" (Medio cerrado).

°Apriete y mantenga apretado el gatillo de! acelerador. Mantenga

completamente apretado el gatillo hasta que et motor fimcione uniformemente.

•Jale endrgicamente la cuerda para arrancar basra que el motor arranque, pero no mLs de 5 vcces.

•Deje que el motor funcione por 15 segundos, Iucgo mueva la palanca del estrangulador a Ia posici6n "Off Choke" (Estrangutador abierto).

Si el motor no ha arrancado, jale la cuerda para arrancar 5

veces mils. Si el motor todavfa no ha arrancado, es que probabtemente est_ ahogado. Proceda a seguir [as instmcciones de "Arrancando un motor ahogado."

•Para detener el motor, mueva el interruptor a la posici6n "Off" (Desconectado).

ARRANCANDO UN MOTOR QUE ESTA AHOGADO

Los motores ahogados pueden ser arrancados poniendo el

interruptor en la posiei6n "On" (Conectado) y la patanca det estrangulador en la posici6n "Off Choke" (Estrangulador abierto); luego, jate la cuerda para arrancar para despejar el motor del

exceso de combustible. Esto puede requerir el jalar la cuerda muchas veces dependiendo de cufin ahogado estfi el motor.
