Loss of power

Cutting too much grass /too fast.

 

Throttle in “CHOKE” position.

 

Buildup of grass, leaves and trash under mower.

 

Dirty air filter.

 

Low oil/dirty oil.

 

Faulty spark plug.

 

Dirty fuel filter.

 

Stale or dirty fuel.

 

Water in fuel.

 

Spark plug wire loose.

 

Dirty engine air screen/fins.

 

Dirty/clogged muffler.

 

Loose or damaged wiring.

 

Carburetor out of adjustment.

 

 

Engine continues to run when operator leaves seat

Faulty operator presence safety switch.

 

 

Engine Backfires When Turning Engine “OFF”

Engine throttle control not set at “SLOW” position for 30 seconds
