cap. Start the tractor and let it run for a few seconds. Stop the tractor and fill the tank as needed. Start the tractor again and lift and lower the mower for several cycles to remove all air from hydrau- lic system. Return the Cutterbar to the floor. Turn on the Cutterbar motor and let it cycle for a few seconds. Turns off the motor and tractor and fill tank as needed.
11.The hydraulic system used for the Under the Guardrail Mower is the same as the Switchblade Sickle Bar Mower. Although it is the same hydraulic system it will not be used the same as the Switchblade Sickle Bar. The Switchblade Sickle Bar can toggle from forward and reverse rotation which allows the cutterbar to clear it from debris stuck in the blades. The Under the Guard- rail Mower blades will not use this opera- tion. The blades should only rotate in the clockwise direction as viewed from the top. Once everything is assembled and is ready for operation be sure that the toggle switch reversing function is defeated. There are two solenoids on the motor. One is the for- ward rotation and the other is the reverse rotation. In order for the reversing function to be defeated, disconnect one of the con- nectors from one of the solenoids. Use trial and error to figure out which is the reverse solenoid. Once one of the connectors is disconnected turn the motor switch on. Then toggle the switch back and forth until you hear the blades rotating. If the blades can only turn Counterclockwise as viewed
from the top then turn the motor of. Connect the connector back and disconnect the other connec- tor. The blades should now only turn Clockwise as viewed from the top. Now if the toggle switch is inadvertently switched to reverse it will not reverse.
12.Install decals - Some Decals are shipped loose in the Common Box. All decals should be attached in their appropriate location. Refer to the decal location figures in the Safety Section. If decals are damaged, replacement will be supplied upon request.
13.Set the tractor wheels for tread and weight. For tractors with adjustable tread it is advisable to set the wheels, from and rear, to the widest tread setting consistent with the work to be done. Some mountings will not permit full front tread adjustment on mower side. For banks and ditch work, the rear wheel opposite the mower should be weighted and the tire filled with calcium chloride and water as an added overturn safety precaution.
