AIR FOR COMBUSTION cont.

CONDITION

Excessive heat build-up in PVC

venting

Intermittent fan cycling without burner

operation (Propane Only)

CAUSE

Inlet air damper not

opening completely

Blower does not run when main burner fires

Wrong main burner orifice size

Build up of pressure in the main burner tube between thermostat gas valve and solenoid qas valve

SOLUTION

Free air damper

Replace entire blower assembly

Install correct orifice

If cycling occurs

more than twice per hour, see troubleshooting

procedures.

A malfunctioning vent damper may also cause excessive unable to free the damper, replace the entire combustion

heat buildup in the PVC vent piping If control tee.

If blower does not run when the main burner fires, replace the control box. Also check burner orifice for correct size.

Intermittent cycling of the fan, without main burner operation, indicates a build-up of pressure in the main burner tube between the thermostatic gas valve and solenoid gas valve.

FPS 75, FPSE50, FPS40, fps50 specifications

A.O. Smith is a leader in water heating solutions, well-known for its innovative technologies and high-quality products. Among their extensive lineup, the FPS series, which includes the FPS40, FPS50, FPS75, and FPSE50, stands out for its efficiency and reliability. Each model is tailored to meet varying demands, making them ideal for both residential and commercial applications.

The FPS40 is a compact and efficient water heater with a capacity of 40 gallons, making it suitable for smaller households. It features an advanced electronic control system that ensures optimal temperature management, reducing energy consumption. The tank is insulated with high-density foam, which helps maintain water temperature and minimizes heat loss.

Next in the lineup is the FPS50, which offers a 50-gallon capacity. This model is designed for families that require a greater supply of hot water but still prioritize energy efficiency. The FPS50 employs a durable glass-lined tank that resists corrosion, prolonging the unit's lifespan. Additionally, it comes equipped with a self-diagnostic system that monitors and displays performance, making troubleshooting straightforward.

For those with even greater hot water needs, the FPS75 is available with a robust 75-gallon capacity. This model is engineered for larger households or light commercial use. The FPS75 features a powerful heating element that enables faster recovery rates, ensuring an ample supply of hot water. Its user-friendly digital display allows homeowners to easily adjust temperatures and settings, providing convenience and control over their system.

Finally, the FPSE50 is a hybrid model that incorporates advanced heat pump technology. This unit combines the efficiencies of a heat pump with traditional electric heating, resulting in significant energy savings. The FPSE50 is particularly appealing for energy-conscious consumers, as it offers the flexibility of operating modes, such as energy-saving mode, standard mode, and high-demand mode.

All models in the FPS series reflect A.O. Smith's commitment to quality engineering and innovation. They come with comprehensive warranties, ensuring customer satisfaction and peace of mind. With features like advanced insulation, smart diagnostics, and hybrid technology, A.O. Smith continues to lead the industry in providing efficient and reliable water heating solutions suitable for various needs and preferences.
