Headset/ Dataport

Operation

Using a Headset with your

Telephone

The Model 480 is equipped with a
switch and a 3.5mm jack on the left
hand side of the phone for headset
use.
In order to use a headset, the
headset switch must be in the "on"
position (position "1") and the
handset must be off hook (away
from the phone cradle).
Note: The handset will not function
if a headset or headset adap-
tor is plugged into the head-
set jack and the headset
switch is in the "on" position
(position "1").

To make calls using a headset

1. Ensure the headset switch is in
the on position
2. Plug the headset into the jack
3. Remove the handset from the
phone cradle to obtain dialtone
4. Dial the number
To end a call, return the handset to
the phone cradle.

To receive calls using a headset

1. Ensure the headset switch is in
the on position
2. Plug the headset into the jack
3. When an incoming call is
received, remove the handset
from the cradle to answer the
call
4. Complete the call using the
headset
To end a call, return the handset to
the phone cradle.

headset. Customers should read
and observe all safety
recommendations contained in
headset operating guides when
using any headset.

Using the Dataport

Located on the right hand side of
the Model 480, the dataport can be
used to connect another device such
as a fax machine or computer
modem to the phone. Plug one end
of a line cord to the phone and the
other end to the device to be
connected.
Note: The dataport will only oper-
ate when the handset is on
hook (in the phone base cra-
dle).
