Power ManagementThe Power Management menu lets you configure the system powe r- management fe atu re. It work s only und er
APM mode.
IMPORTANT:If an ACPI-aware operati ng system such as Windows 98 or Windows 2000 is installed in ACPI
mode, the operating system will use the ACPI interfaces. Then the settings in Power Management
page is non-effective.

Parameter Description Options
Power Management Mo de Al lows you to reduce the system’s po wer
consumption. When enabled, the IDE hard
disk and system timers become
configurable.
Enabled or Disabled
IDE Hard Disk Standby Timer Allows the hard disk to enter Standby mode
after inactivity of 1 to 15 minutes, depending
on your setting.
Off or 1 to 15 minutes
System Sleep Timer Automatically puts the system to power-
saving mode after a specified period of
inactivity. Any k ey bo ard or mo us e a ct i on, o r
any activity detected from th e IRQ ch an ne ls
resumes system operation.
Off, or 2, 5, 10, 15, 20 , 30, 40,
50...120 minutes
Sleep Mode Lets you spe cify the power-saving mode
that the system wi ll enter after a specif ied
period of inactivity. This para meter is
configurable only if the System Sleep Timer
is enabled.
