CD/DVD-ROM drive can play audio CD but
no sound output. 1. Ensure the headphone jack of the CD/DVD-ROM has an output.
2. Turn up the soun d volume.
3. Speaker power/c onnection/cable.

Real-Time Clock
Real-time clock is inaccurate. 1. Ensure the inform ation in the Date and Time of BIOS Setup is
set correctly.

Audio software pr ogram invokes but no s ound
comes from speakers. 1. Speaker power/conn ection/cable.
Modem
Modem ring cannot wake up sy stem from
suspend mode. 1. Ensure the Modem Ring Indicator in BIOS Setup or Power
Management is set to Enabled.
2. If PCI modem card is us ed, reinsert the modem card to PCI s lot
firmly or replace the modem card.
3. If ISA modem card is used, ensure th e mod em rin g-i n cab l e fro m
the modem card to system board is connected properly.
4. In Win 98, ensu re the telephone applic ation is configured
correctly for your modem and set to receive message s and/or
fax.
Data/fax modem software program invokes
but cannot receive/sen d da ta /f a x 1. Ensure the modem ca rd is installed prope rly.
Fax/voice modem software program inv okes
but has no sound ou tput. (Data files are
received normally ; voice from modem cann ot
be produced, but syst em sound feature works
normally.)

system board
