How far can I be from a computer or access point and maintain a
connection?
The wireless card range depends on the environment. Indoor range is approxi-
mately 100 feet or more; outdoor range can reach up to 300 feet.
How fast is the wireless connection with the Digital Media Player?
The rated speed of the wireless connection under optimal conditions is 11Mbps.
This speed does vary, depending on distance from the access point or computer
and the amount of attenuation (physical barriers, such as walls, glass, etc.) the
wireless signal must go through.
I’m getting skips and stops while watching movies from my computer using
the Digital Media Player. What should I do?
Movies contain a very large amount of data. The speed and power of the com-
puter controls how well you are able to watch movies using the Digital Media
Player. If you are having problems, make sure that you close out of all unneeded
programs on your computer. Other programs can take up processing time and
slow down the movie you’re watching.
What can I connect the Digital Media Player to?
The Digital Media Player can connect wirelessly to a computer or an access
point. It can also connect to a router or hub via Ethernet.
Does the access point provide load-balancing capabilities?
No, the access point is not designed to track the load on the network resources;
it is a data transport device only.
