System Administrator’s Guide to Installing DataMgr

Step 1.

Change directory to the specific platform directory

 

created earlier and run the DataMgr installation

 

script.

 

For example, the commands below go to the hpux

 

directory and runs the DataMgr script.

 

 

 

# cd /usr/dminstall/hpux1020

 

# ./install_dm

Step 2.

 

The installation script prompts you to enter the letter

 

that corresponds to the component you want to

 

install.

a)DMFS - Data Manager File System (provides migrating file systems)

b)BFS - Bitfile Server (requires installed SSD)

c)SLD - Service Locator Daemon (must be one per network)

d)SSD - Storage Server Daemon (provides local SSD; requires AMASS)

e)ALL - All of the above

Please enter a, b, c, d, e, or a list (eg, ab):

You can select — one, all, or a combination — of components. For example, to install all four components on this machine, enter “e” as shown below:

Step 3. The following prompt checks to make sure a full

BFS Database back up has been performed.
