About the Folder & File Names

Your digital camera automatically creates a directory of folders in the internal memory or on the memory card that it uses to organize still images, movie clips and other information.

Folder Structure

The folder name begins with a 3-digit number from 100 to 999 and is followed by "DCIM". A new folder can only be made manually. If new files are made, the new files named in sequence will be made automatically.

Naming Files

File names begin with "PICT" and are followed by a 4-digit number that increases in sequence. File numbering starts from 0001 when a new folder is created.

Caution

yDo not change the folder and file names on the memory card using your computer: it may be unable to play back the data on the digital camera.
