Setting the AUX+ SETUP Mode

AUX+ ON / AUX+ OFF (Initial setting)

An external device (such as a portable music player) can be connected to the iPod Direct connector of this unit. An iPod Direct/RCA Interface cable (optional) is required.

A portable music device and an iPod cannot be connected to the iPod Direct connector at the same time.

AUX+ ON: Set to ON when a portable device is connected. If SOURCE/ is pressed and AUX+ is selected, the sound of the portable device is input to the unit.

AUX+ OFF: Set to OFF when an iPod is connected.

Setting the AUX NAME mode (CDE-9874E only)

You can change the AUX NAME display in the SETUP mode.

*1 After the setting is completed, AUX is displayed on the unit. *2 After the setting is completed, PMD is displayed on the unit.

An iPod® can be connected to this unit by using the proprietary ALPINE FULL SPEEDConnection Cable (KCE-422i) (sold separately). When this unit is connected by using the cable, the controls on the iPod are not functional.

Set AUX+ SETUP to OFF when an iPod is connected (refer to “Setting the AUX+ SETUP Mode” on page 17).

If the Bluetooth Box and an ipod are connected at the same time, be sure to disconnect the ipod from the Bluetooth Box while turning ACC to OFF.

iPods usable with this unit

The unit can be used with the fourth generation and above iPod, iPod photo, iPod mini or iPod nano. iPod Shuffle cannot be used, however.

Touch wheel or scroll wheel type iPods without the dock connector cannot be connected to the unit.

If the unit is used with iPod software versions of iTunes earlier than 7.1.0.59, correct function and performance are not guaranteed.
