Step 7 Connect Onboard I/O
Onboard I/O The Apollo IV motherboard has:
∙two serial ports (COM1 and COM2),
∙a parallel port (LPT),
∙an IDE controller on the PCI bus. The primary IDE connector is IDE1. The secondary connector is IDE2.
∙a floppy controller (FDD).
The serial and parallel port connectors are described below.
Conflicts AMIBIOS minimizes conflicts between onboard and offboard I/O devices. AMIBIOS automatically checks the adapter cards installed in the expansion slots on the Apollo IV motherboard for a hard disk or floppy controller and serial or parallel ports.
