For your safety and that of your equipment, follow the rules in this appendix for cleaning and handling your computer, as well as the guidelines for working more comfortably.

Cleaning Your iMac G5

Follow these general rules when cleaning the outside of your computer and its components:

•Shut down your iMac G5 and disconnect all cables.

•Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the computer’s exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings. Do not spray liquid directly on the computer.

•Don’t use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives.

Cleaning Your iMac G5 Display

To clean your iMac G5 screen, do the following:

•Shut down your iMac G5 and disconnect all cables.

•Dampen a clean, soft, lint-free cloth or paper with water only and wipe the screen. Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.

Carrying Your iMac G5

Before you lift or reposition your computer, you may need to disconnect all cables and cords connected to it.

To lift or move your computer, hold the sides of the computer.
