Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of an electric ROUND pepper/salt grinder from BODUM®. We hope you will enjoy using this BODUM® product.

Please observe the following instructions and keep them handy for reference to ensure many years of satisfactory service.

Before first use

Inserting/replacing the batteries

1.Place the grinder upside down on a flat, clean surface.

2.Rotate the battery cover (1) anticlockwise and remove the battery holder (2).

3.Insert six size «AAA» batteries, observing the polarities marked in the battery holder (2).

4.Replace the battery holder (2) into the housing

(3) and rotate the battery cover (1) clockwise. Ensure that the cover (1) is firmly closed.

5.The grinder is now ready for use.

Filling

1.Place the grinder on a flat, clean surface.

2.Turn the transparent lid (4) of the housing (3) anticlockwise. Now put pepper, salt or some other condiment or spice which is suitable for grinding into the chamber. Note: do not fill the chamber all the way to the top, but leave a little space.

3.Replace the transparent lid (4) on the housing

(3) and turn it clockwise.

Using the grinder

After inserting the batteries and filling the chamber with condiment, pick up the grinder and tilt it forward at least 90º .

The grinder will automatically begin to grind as soon as it is tilted more than 90º.

Fineness of grinding

1.For coarser grinding, turn the adjustment screw (5) at the front of the grinder to the left.

2.For finer grinding, turn the adjustment screw

(5) at the front of the grinder to the right.

Cleaning and care

1.Do not leave discharged batteries in the grinder.

2.Always replace all six batteries at the same time. Avoid using old and new batteries together.

3.Clean the exterior of the grinder with a dry cloth. Never put the grinder in the dishwasher and never immerse it in water.

Hints and tips

1.Always store the grinder vertically. Never store it horizontally with the batteries in place or it will start grinding.

2.This grinder can be used for pepper, as well as salt or other condiment or spice suitable for grinding. If possible, always use the same type of condiment/spice.

3.If the grinder does not function:

check that the batteries are inserted correctly, or

check that there is enough pepper, etc. in the

grinder.

If the grinder is not empty, shake it gently to release any blockage in the chamber.

4.A reduction in the grinding speed is a sign that the batteries will soon need replacing.

Bring the old unit to an authorized waste disposal agency.
