Pre-Scanning to crop a portion you want to scan
The PreScan button is used to preview an image for cro pping any unwanted areas from the ima ge. When
you are satisfied with th e preview, click the Start button in the scann er window to scan the image.
1Load your document.
2Select the settings for Image Type, Resolution, Scan Type, Brightness, Contrast and Document
Size, as needed.
3In the Scanner Setup dialog box, click the PreScan button.
The entire document will be scanned into the PC and will appear in the Scanning Area.
4To select the portion y ou want to scan, click a nd hold the
left mouse button, then drag the mouse pointer ove r the
area.
Note
If you enlarge the image using button, you can then use the button to restore the image to its former
size.
5Load your document again.
Note
If you have a flatbed ty pe model, and you loaded y our document onto the scan ner glass in step 1, plea se skip
this step.
6Click Start.
This time only the selected area of the document will appear in the PaperPort® 9.0SE window (or you r
software application window).
7In the PaperPort® 9.0SE windo w, use the options available to r efine the image.
