Shooting in Hybrid Auto Mode

You can make a short movie of a day just by shooting still images. These digest movies include each shot, clips before the shots, and the shooter’s reactions before and after shooting, as recorded by the Story Camera.

To make albums (=114) that include digest movies more enjoyable, register subjects’ Face ID information (=41) before shooting.

1Register Face ID information. zzFollow the steps in “Registering Face ID

Information” (=42 43) to register Face ID information for the shooter and subjects.

2 Enter [] mode.

zzFollow step 2 in “Shooting (Smart Auto)” (=31) and choose [].

zzYour face, as captured by the Story Camera, is displayed in the sub-window.

3Compose the shot.

zzFollow steps 3 – 4 in “Shooting (Smart Auto)” (=31) to compose the shot and focus.

zzFor more impressive digest movies, aim the camera at subjects about four seconds before shooting still images.

4Shoot.

zzFollow step 4 in “Shooting (Smart Auto)” (=31) to shoot a still image.

zzAfter the shutter sound is played, the image is displayed, and the shooter’s reaction to the shot is recorded as a 2-second movie.

zzEach clip recorded with a shot is a digest movie chapter that you can play (=90) or edit (=113) separately.

Sub-window images are not added to still images.

Although names are not displayed on the shooting screen if you have registered Face ID information, the information is added to the images.

Sounds and vibrations from operating the camera will be recorded in digest movies.

Battery life is shorter in this mode than in [] mode, because digest movies are recorded for each shot.
