Shooting with the AF Lock

The focus can be locked. After you lock the focus, the focal position will not change even when you release your finger from the shutter button.

1Lock the focus.

zzWith the shutter button pressed halfway, press the <q> button.

zzThe focus is now locked, and [%] is displayed.

zzTo unlock the focus, release the shutter button and press the <q> button again. In this case, [%] is no longer displayed.

2Compose the shot and shoot.

Cannot be used with Touch Shutter (=39).

Shooting Continuously as the Camera Keeps the Subject in Focus

Shoot continuously as the camera keeps the subject in focus. For details on the continuous shooting speed, see “Continuous Shooting Speed” (=205).

1Configure the setting. zzPress the <m> button, choose

[] in the menu, and then choose [] (=25).

zzOnce the setting is complete, [] is displayed.

2Shoot.

zzHold the shutter button all the way down to shoot continuously.

zzThe images are managed together as a group (=93).

In [t] mode (=60) or AF lock (=82), [ ] is changed to [ ].

Cannot be used with the self-timer (=37).

Shooting may stop momentarily or continuous shooting may slow down depending on shooting conditions, camera settings, and the zoom position.

As more shots are taken, shooting may slow down.

Shooting may slow down if the flash fires.

With Touch Shutter (=39), the camera shoots continuously while you touch the screen.
