[Frame Rate]: Selects the frame rate to be used when recording.

[oPF30]: 30 frames per second, progressive. Use this frame rate to easily edit your recordings, for example, to post them on the Web.

[EPF24]: 24 frames per second, progressive. Using this frame rate will give your recordings a cinematic look. When combined with the [DCine Mode] recording program (063), the cinematic look will be enhanced.

Using this frame rate, video is recorded as 60i and movies can be converted to standard definition in the camcorder.

[z24F]: 24 frames per second, progressive. Using this frame rate will achieve the same cinematic look as [EPF24], the difference being that video is recorded as true 24p. Use the supplied software ImageMixer 3 SE to convert movies recorded with this frame rate to standard definition.

[Memory Info]: Displays a screen where you can verify how much of the built-in memory (conly) or the memory card is currently in use (l total recording time and ktotal number of photos) and how much space remains available for recording.

Estimated figures about available movie recording time and available number of photos are approximate and based on the recording mode and photo quality/size settings currently in use.

In the information screen of a memory card you can also check its

Speed Class.

cThe [Total space] shown for the built-in memory indicates actually usable space. It may be slightly smaller than the nominal built-in memory capacity listed in the Specifications.

[x.v.Color]: Uses a color space with an extended gamut to achieve deeper colors, closer to real life.

Use this function to record video only when you intend to play back your recordings on an HDTV compatible with x.v.Color, connected to the camcorder using an HDMI cable. If recordings made with x.v.Color are played back on a non-compatible TV, colors may not be reproduced correctly.

[Color Bars & Test Tone]: Use the color bars to calibrate the colors on an external TV or monitor.

[Color Bars]: Displays a standard SMPTE color bar pattern.

[Color Bars & Tone]: In addition to the color bar pattern, a 1 kHZ, -12 dB test tone is output.

Connect the camcorder to the TV or monitor and display the color bars (if desired, along with the test tone). Check the colors and audio record- ing levels on the external monitor and adjust as necessary.
