Turning the Power On/ Off

• Press the ON/ OFF Button until the
green power lamp lights.
- The upper indicator beside the
viewfinder will flash green.
- The lens will extend when the mode
dial is turned to the , , or
position.
- The lens will retract approximately 1
minute after the mode dial is turned
to from any shooting mode.
- When the mode dial is set to the ,
or position, the LCD monitor
will turn on regardless of its On/Off
status.
• Press the ON/OFF Button again to tur n
off the power.
• The Set Date/Time menu will appear the first time the
camera power is turned on or whenever the charge of the
built-in rechargeable lithium date/time battery is low. Reset
the date and time when this occurs (p. 25).
• If the auto power save function activates, press the ON/OFF
Button to restore power.
