2.Keeping the shutter button half-pressed (which maintains the focus setting), move the camera to compose the image.

3.When you are ready to shoot the image, press the shutter button the rest of the way down.

NOTE

Focus lock also locks exposure (AE).

The focus frame does not appear on the display when the Touch Shutter is enabled (On).

Shooting with Continuous Auto Focus (Continuous AF)

Procedure

Enter the REC Mode * MENU * Continuous AF

When shooting a snapshot while “On” is selected for Continuous AF, Auto Focus is performed and focusing is continually updated until you half-press the shutter button.

Before you half-press the shutter button, the camera focuses at the center of the screen.

Shooting with Continuous AF can cause vibration and noise to occur due to lens operation. This does not indicate malfunction.

Using the Auto Focus Assist Light (AF Assist Light)

Procedure

Enter the REC Mode * MENU * AF Assist Light

Half-pressing the shutter button while this setting is selected

Front lamp

causes the front lamp to light, which provides illumination for

 

focusing in areas where lighting is dim. Leaving this function

 

turned off is recommended when shooting portraits from short

 

distances, etc.

 

IMPORTANT!

• Never look directly into the front lamp while it is lit.
