Section 4. If You Have a Radio Modem

CAUTION Your modem generates radio frequency (RF) signals. Do not operate the radio modem before you have registered it with a network provider. The network will not accept a signal from an unregistered device. Unauthorized use of your radio modem may interfere with local business or government communications, resulting in fines or other legal action.

GSM

To use your GSM International Radio Software you will need to install the GSM modem, the GSM software and a 3V Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Card.

To install the Wavecom GSM modem, do the following:

1Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel and click on Modems.

2 Click Add.

3Check the box “Don’t detect my modem, I will select it from a list”, then click Next.

4Select the “Manufacturers” Wavecom name, and the “Models” Wismo2C, then click Next.

5Select to install your modem as “Selected ports” on COM4 and click Next.

6 Select Finish, then Close.

7You may have a window titled “Modem Setup” that pops up and says:

“Dial Up Networking needs to be configured because the list of installed modems has changed. Would you like to do this now?” Select Yes.

8You will have a window pop up that is titled “Remote Access Setup”. Select Add. A window will pop up titled “Add RAS Device” with “COM4 - Wismo2C”. Select OK.

9 Select Yes when it asks you to restart your computer.
