1.3 Connection to Power CAUTION Always use an AC outl et that accepts a
three-pronge d plug. Otherwise, static electricity
may be generated and there will be danger of
electric sh ock.
Connect to an AC outlet as follows:
1 Check that th e power swi tch on the pr inter is set to OFF.
2 Connect the connector of the power cord to the power inlet on the printer.
3 Insert the plug of the power cord in the AC outlet.
1.4 Connection to a Computer An interface cable is necessary for connecting the printer to a computer.
To connect them, proc eed as follows:
1 Turn off both po wer switch es of the pr inter and t he comput er.
2 Connect the connector of one end of the interface cable to the interface
connector at t he lower s ide of the printer and secure it correctly.
3 Connect the connector of the other end of the interface cable to the interface
connector on t he comput er and secu re it correc tly.
