Confirming Hibernation Setting

Hibernation is an energy-saving feature enabled at the factory that can be initiated by you or by the system. This feature protects your notebook by saving all information in RAM (random access memory) to a hibernation file on the hard drive and shutting down the notebook. For more information about using Hibernation, refer to the Software Guide, “Power” chapter on the Documentation Library CD included with the notebook.

To verify that Hibernation is enabled:

In Windows 2000 Professional, select Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power Options icon > Hibernate tab. Make sure that the Enable Hibernate Support check box is selected.

In Windows XP Professional, select Start > Control Panel > Power Options icon > Hibernate tab. Make sure that the Enable Hibernate Support check box is selected.
