4.9POLYCENTER Software Installation

At the end of the OpenVMS POLYCENTER Software Installation procedure, a message is displayed that recommends a reboot of the system. At the conclusion of the installation, the POLYCENTER Software Installation utility does not prompt for or enforce a reboot of the system for the new software image to become effective immediately. The 3Dlabs OXYGEN VX1 PCI graphics controller two-dimensional (2D) support software becomes active only after the operating system has been rebooted.

If the software is being installed in a clustered environment and it is not convenient to perform a reboot immediately following installation, then a rolling reboot may be used for the new image to take effect across all systems.
