The first battery alarm will sound if the battery voltage drops below a preset threshold. The buzzer will sound and the LCD display will show “batt”. In this case the remaining battery capacity is sufficient for at least 30 minutes operation. This prealarm can be reset with the reset button.

If the battery is almost empty, the main battery alarm will come on (double tone signal). The display shows flashing “batt”. This alarm cannot be reset. The supply voltage is cut off from the sensor.

The Compur Ex plus should be switched off immediately and recharged in the charging station.

3.3.4 Connecting an Earphone

If the detector is used in noisy environments, an earphone can be connected.

??Open the rubber protector where it is marked with “PULL” (see picture page 22 point 4). ??When connecting the earphone, the internal buzzer will not be switched off.

??If you don’t use the earphone, please close the rubber protection over the earphone connector.

If the earphone is used, carry out the selftest with the earphone.

The earphone can be used in hazardous areas.

3.3.5Reset Button

The reset button is on the left side of the instrument. It is marked with “RS” (see picture page

2). The following alarms can be reset:

??Prealarm A1 ??Battery prealarm ??ERR2 (Cal – Request)

3.4 Switching Off the Compur Ex plus

After using the Compur Ex plus , it should be switched off and kept in the charging station. This will avoid battery damage by deep discharge.
