4.5.2 Charcoal Filter

4.5.2 Charcoal Filter

If required, an optional charcoal filter as protection against catalytic poisons can be mounted on the sensor. This charcoal filter may be used only in Hydrogene and Methane environments.

??Remove the filter cap as described in 4.5.1.

 

??Unplug the sensor.

??Remove the olf charcoal filter and the adhesive

 

tape completely form the sensor top.

??Fix the adhesive tape on the backside (smoother

 

surface) of the charcoal filter and mount it on top

 

of the sensor.

??Insert the sensor and replace the filter cap as

 

described in 4.5.1.

 

4.6 Sensor Replacement

If the sensor has lost to much sensitivity, the Compur Ex plus will give an error message “Err1 ” or “Err2 ”, when atempting a gas calibration.

Err1 ” indicates that the sensor can still be calibrated but it should be replaced soon.

Err2 ” indicates that the sensor should be replaced immediately.

How to exchange the sensor, has been described in 4.5.2. After sensor replacement you should perform a gas calibration (see 4.2).
